My Life in Punk Rock - The Damned - 1992 to 1995

I spent some time playing bass with The Damned, around four years, in fact. The Damned are something of a British institution, a bit cabaret at times, but normally the music was on good form, the gigs were loud, energetic and fun, the money was pretty good and we had a good laugh whilst we were about it. Unfortunately, old feuds die hard and old members come and go, which is why The Damned have gone from credible punk rock band to chart-topping, pop darlings, all the way to Butlin's bill fillers, taking in pretty much everything else in between. The Damned refuse to die, and have resurrected themselves in many guises time and time again. Punk rock, Goth, whatever, they pound the boards even now, in yet another mutation, enjoying something of a renaissance. Bloody good luck to them, I'll wager there's life in the old dog for years to come. My time with the Damned was brief but fun, although it has been erased from certain versions of The Damned History Book...but that's another story which is sure to be denied elsewhere.

These pages will be done soon. I'm trawling through the mess that was the old version, and salvaging what ever is worth keeping. Then I'll add a few new bits and some unreleased songs and live tracks. In the meantime, you can look at this picture as things emerge below.
