New Model Army Videos

This selection were shot at a variety of places over a couple of years, some with a camcorder we rented for doing video links, some by professional TV people, and some by members of the crowd, which we later managed to acquire. 51st State and Poison Street were done for WDR TV in Koln during the Ghost of Cain tour in 1987. The show was a bit like Nationwide, so we scared them a bit, and Justin left his red jacket behind afterwards. I think he got it back. Adrenalin (with no 'e' at the end) was from the Lausanne Dolce Vita later that year, and I wore the rather cool looking (for the '80s) t-shirt from the venue for years after that. Drag it Down was from Bradford St. George's Hall on the Thunder and Consolation tour of 1989. Q magazine came along to do an article. Young, Gifted and Skint, Love Songs and Betcha were all from the Vienna Arena a few months later. At this point, I knew I was definitely leaving the band once we'd done the remaining gigs for the year. I'd been to the Hoffburg Museum during the day to see the spear of destiny, it was disappointing. If there's any reasonable quality video out there from when I was in the band, I wouldn't mind a look, especially if anyone has Bradford St. George's from 1985 or Reading Festival from 1989. Robert had both of these, my first and last British dates with the band, and watched them back-to-back the week I left, he said the difference was quite incredible. I'd still love to see what he meant.
